Such Low-Calibre Leadership in London and Paris

Posted July 29, 2011 by headhopper and filed under libya

Libya used to be a fairly prosperous country, well-run by the standards of Africa or the Middle East. It had, and still has, a free press.

Then there were the demonstrations, which Qaddafi's regime started repressing, as most sovereign governments are want to do. After all, attempting to overthrow the leadership is usually known as treason.

Anyway, the whole mess would have been over a long time ago. A few thousand deaths, maybe, and things would have gone back to normal.

Instead, a number of idiots in London, Paris, and Washington D.C. decided to get involved, and we have months and months of war, millions of livelihoods lost, far more deaths than a thousand, and a general state of mayhem and doom.

Gaddafi is looking stronger than ever, according to this excellent article in the Guardian, and only two days ago the said idiots in London, Paris, and Washington D.C. painted themselves into a corner by officially recognizing the rabble, recently named the "Trans-National Council," as the sovereign representatives of Libya.

Say what? How can a weak and disorganized gaggle on the fringes which hasn't been able to get near the capital be termed representative of the nation? What were they smoking when they came up with that? It wouldn't even make sense if one supports this short-sighted, narrow-minded, ignorant, ill-informed crusade.

Way to go, Western world, the decisions being made by the leaders of the West today are even more retarded than the decisions made by Western leaders 50, 200, or even 1,000 years ago, which doesn't say a lot for the democracy they go to great lengths to espouse.
