So I have a personal home page now, under nickoba.com. Even though I've made living entirely from the Internet since 1996, I've never really had a navel-gazing home page.
But I've sort of been forced to putting one up now, due to the fact that a lot of people are trusting me with their money.
I'm a lot more comfortable brandishing my name about now that people know about President Obama. The surname used to be tres exotique before Obama came along and normalized things.
People would ask questions like, Oba? That's your name??? Or they'd assume I meant Abo, or Abou. More than one person started calling me Abou.
Nowadays I can give a quick condescending look and say, "DUH! It's like Obama, without the ma. Sheesh."
