Today SurgeonCheck, a website dedicated to public safety by means of educating consumers about the competency of plastic surgeons, joins the LocustSwarm family. I rarely acquire sites as my job is developing them, but this one is different: most of the code is based on the LocustSwarm CMS and original deployment was done by me. Noticing that the site had stalled, I negotiated an arrangement and will now be developing this site.
It so happens that this project dovetails with Surgeons Desk, an authority plastic surgery blog I have been developing. This offers ample opportunities for synergy and cross-advertising in the field of cosmetic surgery.
Plastic surgery is a huge industry but for some reason it's not well regulated. Unfortunately it is up to consumers to educate themselves about their plastic surgeons. That's what SurgeonCheck does, and it does it fairly well.
The website currently has only a few reviews, but by aggressively seeking out plastic surgery consumers and asking them to contribute reviews, I hope to grow this site quickly.
I look forward to developing the site further and perhaps integrating it with my other assets.
